Hosta - Allegan Fog
Unusual variegation displays white centers speckled with green surrounded by shiny dark green margins. Lavender flowers. Definately one of our favorites! Our Allegan Fog hosta plants look FANTASTIC in the greenhouse right now.
Jerry's Comments: "The town of Allegan (Michigan) was just down the road from where I grew up (Hudsonville). I think this is one of the best speckled/mottled hostas available. A really nice growth rate especially for a white-center hosta. Plant in deep shade to get the full effect of the misty green specks."

I purchased this hosta as a bare root 5 years ago (I went to Allegan HS and assumed it was propagated near Allegan MI). It is now a gorgeous plant with very unique leaves. It is able to tolerate more sun than most of my other hostas and, so far, no slugs. |

Hey Lynne, we thought it was 1st year they sleep, 2nd year they creep, 3rd year they leap. Same concept, eh? Now this hosta is sweet and unique but it gets real ugly when the robins head south and leave the slugs to attack. If it 'bugs' ya, just cut 'em back until next season . . . |

This hosta lives in the miniature hosta section of my garden. The leaves are thin spears that are gently ruffled / corkscrewed. It's in its second season in the garden - the sleeping year -- but has added a substantial number of eyes (yr1= weeping, yr2=sleeping, yr3=leaping). |
