Plant size is the most evasive fact when buying plants online. One person's description of "gallon-sized" plants may differ from those offered at your local nursery. We believe an informed consumer makes the best choices. Therefore we tell and show you exactly what we ship.

We obtain all our hostas from the leading wholesale suppliers in the United States. We transplant the hosta liners in the Spring and grow for the entire season. In late November we move ALL these hostas outside for the winter to ensure any hosta we sell the following Spring has undergone a severe "Chicago Winter" test. This simply means the hosta has a very healthy root system.

Usually I would transplant these hostas into 1 or 2 gallon nursery pots for retail sales. After moving to Chicago (Glenview - NW Suburbs) from Michigan (Hudsonville) in 2003 we have discontinued retail sales and focused solely on online sales. We decided to offer these 4" pots directly to you and avoid transplanting into gallons. We pass the savings onto you!
